Bollywood’s rising star Janhvi Kapoor is on the cusp of her latest film release ‘Mr. & Mrs. Mahi’, set to premiere in cinemas on the 31st of May. In the run-up to its release, Kapoor graced ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’, joining forces with fellow actor Rajkummar Rao for the promotion of their project.

During a lively exchange with the show’s host, Kapil Sharma, Kapoor reminisced about an encounter with Hollywood luminary Rihanna. The anecdote stems from their attendance at the pre-nuptial celebration of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant back in March—an event that also birthed a social media hit: a clip featuring Kapoor and Rihanna swaying to ‘Zingaat’ from the movie ‘Dhadak’.

Kapoor recounted, “My time with Rihanna was nothing short of remarkable. Following her dynamic performance, she took the time to greet us. As she approached, our group was brimming with elation, chanting her name. In a surprising turn, she singled me out, causing a surge of nerves as I feared I had committed some faux pas. But, to my astonishment, she engaged with me, much to my delight.”
The young actress was in awe as Rihanna confided that she kept tabs on her via Instagram. Kapoor reflected on her disbelief, saying, “I was taken aback, and when I managed to utter, ‘Me?’, she complimented my looks and my dancing skills, sharing that she had tried replicating my moves. I was astounded; such an incident marked a significant milestone in my life.”

As the tale unfolded, Kapoor revealed how her friends had encouraged her to capture a photo with the international icon. As she was about to request a selfie, ‘Zingaat’, her own movie track, serendipitously filled the room. That was when she shared a personal note with Rihanna about the song’s connection to her. With a fond look back at the event, Kapoor signed off, marking a memorable chapter in her ever-evolving story.
